going out for lunch with heizou is a menu filled with more options than you could possibly choose from, set against the ambience of a half-empty restaurant. the food arrives quickly—a rich sashimi platter, mouth-watering grilled fish, a plate of simple onigiri, and much more. even split between you two, it seems like a lot, but heizou encourages to try a bit of everything. so you do, and the sweet and salty flavours mix delightfully, washed down with a refreshing sweet tea. when you’re done, it’s heizou who takes care of the bill—it was his treat, after all.

A Pumpkin Preview - Oct 28, 2023

We had these spiderweb candy bowls at the library, so I thought they'd make an interesting display for my pumpkins. This is only about half of the stock, but it's a good preview of what my craft fair display might look like. The black and orange ones have spiders, but the cream/gray one is bones and skulls.

These are the pumpkins we stuffed last week, including the one I forgot at home (still not stuffed yet). The green one is from August's harvest, as I wanted LL-K to see how that yarn knit up as a whole pumpkin. (She complimented how I used it on the stems and was curious about it as a whole thing. I'm like, "Well boy howdy, do I have some good news for you.")

Anyone remember the 2nd Oberon biscornu I started last fall? Just got around to seaming the panels together today. The corners and centers weren't meeting properly (off my a couple stitches), so I'm wondering if my panels aren't square. Even if they were stretched on the frame, the square count should still be right. So this bugger will get sewn like a normal square, alas.

My thread also broke, so I saw it as a sign to stop for the day. Trying to craft while confused and frustrated is not fun and can make things worse. Even if I don't include it in next week's craft fair offerings, I'd like to at least get it finished by the end of the year.
